Subject: Lab update for November 19th
To: Evan Dandrea <evan.dandrea@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Evan,

Here's where we are in the lab thus far:

  - The replacement dx-autopilot-nvidia (the replacement machine is
keeping the dx-ap name) has been turned over to Didier/Vincent and will
be brought into the pool tomorrow morning (AIUI).

  - Spoke with Herb on the network slowness issue we are seeing with
connections external to the lab. His recommendation is to take routing
off of the switch stack and run it through either a router or Ubuntu
system (an Ubuntu system is the way the labs were originally
configured). We can make this change but it will require a brief network
outage for the lab (no inbound or outbound connections). We have a
couple of choices in the timing, we can wait until the weekend or we can
do it immediately. Since it is causing issues with some of the testing I
would be inclined to make the changes immediately.

  - All of the kernel team hardware (the existing hardware, not the new
systems) are up. One dell server seems to have an issue retaining a BIOS
setting (that tells it to start up when power is applied). We are going
to see if a BIOS update is available for that system, apply it if it is
and see if that resolves the issue. If a BIOS update is not available or
if it does not resolve the issue then we will open a ticket with Dell to
have the service tech check the system and perform whatever
repairs/replacement is needed.

  - I completed some more work on the Nagios server configuration. It's
not complete yet but I should be able to finish it up tomorrow.

  - Looked more closely at the E-mail from James Page in the trouble
connecting to test-01 and resolved the IP conflict that was preventing
him from connecting to his test suite.

  - Provided additional information to Diogo for the MaaS suite;
specifically provided him with the KVM information.

  - Rick got the Armada board connected up but it appears that the power
supply he brought over for it has issues. He is going back to Lex in the
morning to get a power supply from on of the other armada boards to get
this particular task completed.

Tomorrow is going to be somewhat flexible depending upon whether we add
the routing server into the network or not.
