Hello
I have completed a big chunk of the specification for reinstalling
Ubuntu from a OneConf profile.
<https://docs.google.com/a/canonical.com/Doc?docid=0AU5sFuLRpCpBZGZra2pqY2pfMTAxZ25rcnBnNXY#sync>
It has taken me much longer than expected, because I realized that to
install from a OneConf profile, you need to connect to the Internet,
which means that the step to help you connect to the Internet needs to
be moved earlier. And to connect to the Internet, you might need to
install wi-fi drivers that aren't installed by default. So that stage
needs to be happen earlier too. So I first redesigned that section to
make sure it would work. I don't expect you to implement any of the
redesign, though it would help just to move the Internet connection
step before the OneConf step.
I have used bright blue highlighting to mark the things that need to
change for this feature.
On Monday I will sketch out the "Reinstall from sync" and "Choose
profile to reinstall" steps in more detail.
Cheers
