This is a summary of the Ubuntu Software Center team call, 9 August
2010, for the benefit of Stuart Metcalfe who's away.
Present: Anthony Lenton, Francis Lacoste, Matthew Paul Thomas, Michael
Nelson, Michael Vogt, Ricardo Kirkner, Rick Spencer.
Francis: Was surprised and concerned about the archive metadata
discussion point that had appeared on the notes for last week's call; he
hadn't known about it. Michael Vogt described the problem again, the
solution that was discussed at the platform rally, and the fallback
solution that Michael and Gary designed last week, which also doesn't
work. Michael agreed to forward his message about it to the
buy-something@ list, and Francis and Michael agreed to discuss this more
later.
Matthew asked which components are responsible for which parts of the
visible interface. Anthony and Ricardo: canonical-payment-service is
responsible for most of the payments interface. software-center-agent is
responsible only for the "Connecting to the payments service" screen,
and the callback once the payment process completes. Matthew will report
bugs on the various interface problems.
Michael Vogt asked what software was going to be for sale, so that we
could switch to production soon. Rick: Brian Thomason is helping to get
the Fluendo DVD player prepared for sale.
Matthew asked how we will be able to continue testing the purchase
process once we switch over to production and start requiring real
credit card info etc. Michaels Vogt and Nelson agreed to figure that out
and mail buy-something@ once we have a solution.
How are we doing overall? Michael Nelson said he may need to spend more
time on Software Center Agent bugs. Francis: This is new information.
He'll follow up with Stuart. Rick: This is higher-priority than most
other projects in the company.
Finally, Michaels Vogt and Nelson discussed how to fix the bug where
clicking "Submit Payment" gives no feedback.
