Hackfest @ Directi #2
Hi everyone,
I would say the last Hackfest has been a little bit of success as far as
starting something like this goes. A good summary of what went in -
http://is.gd/7zuUy
The good -
1. We got 2 interactive talk sessions done.
2. We started working on the projects we had in the task list.
Could be better -
1. We couldn't get as many people as expected. Ah forgot to take snaps
too :P
2. As interesting talks got major slice of time, we had to take the
remaining work offline.
3. Besides Sunday was not appropriate at all - the moment we got mockups
done and started the actual work, it was 8:30pm already.
The way ahead -
1. Would be great if we could organize talks once a month and keep rest
of the weekends to work upon interesting things.
2. The work would also give way to talks for next month, where a small
group of people/ an individual could present what the got done from last
hackfest.
Currently -
Would it be possible for Manish, Rohan and me to continue with
apt-offline work this Saturday? And by next months talk we would've finished
this and a few more tasks -
1. Finish up redirection of console output to text Edits, if possible
detect errors and hi-light in html.
2. Start adding functionality to windows/dialogs designed at last
meetup.
3. Study the core code for a better understanding of what goes inside.
Agenda in short - completion of apt-offline's gui. some short tasks from
sahanapy. anything else that one would like to discuss/work upon.
So guys, would a HackFest/HackDay/Night be possible at Directi office this
Saturday, 13th Feb, 2010? And could we again invite some more geeks if
possible?
Thanks,
Abhishek
