This works fine in mysqldb:
[(1L, 'SIMPLE', None, None, None, None, None, None, None, 'No tables used')]

When I try to run
s.execute("EXPLAIN SELECT 1").fetchall()
I get this:

oursql.ProgrammingError: (None, 'cursor closed', None)
